Could Conte Be Spurs’ New Coach?
Antonio Conte is expected to be unveiled as the new manager of Tottenham Hotspur today, Tuesday 2 November, following yesterday’s sacking of Nuno Espirito Santo.
Santo – who was announced as Spurs’ new coach only four months ago – was fired in the wake of their recent 3-0 loss to Manchester United. All in all, he recorded nine wins, one draw and seven losses for the English club.
Now, according to reports, his successor has already been found: Conte, who previously coached Inter Milan and Chelsea, met with Tottenham officials yesterday in London, England, to finalise the details of contract.
The contract supposedly runs until 2023, plus it stipulates that the 52-year-old Italian will be given a £150 million transfer budget to help revive the struggling squad.
If appointed, Conte will immediately take charge of the Spurs when they play against Vitesse Arnhem in the Europa Conference League this Thursday, 4 November.
